Cover Design
Cover design for books and magazines creates an attractive visual representation that captures the essence of your work inside. It is the prime element that draws in potential readers and communicates the genre and tone of your work. This is crucial and the final stage of development.
Cover Design Services: $55 per hour
Cover design is available for eBooks and print books such as trade, academic, fiction, non-fiction, biography, poetry, cookbooks, and photography books.
Interior Book Design
Interior book design creates visually appealing layouts for the text (and sometimes images) inside a book. It focuses on readability and overall presentation by using elements of typography, margins, and page layout to enhance the reader’s experience. This directly impacts the reader’s experience, and can communicate the genre and tone of your work. This is one of the final stages of development of your work.
Print Book (black and color text): $55 per hour
Black text is available for trade, academic, fiction, non-fiction, biography, and poetry
Color text is available in cookbooks and photography books.
Magazine Layouts
Magazine layout design refers to the arrangement of text, images, and other elements on the pages of a magazine. This helps create an appealing and readable format that is enjoyable for readers. It involves balancing visual and textual elements while effectively communicating the magazine’s message to readers.
Magazine layout design is inherently different from interior book design. Magazine layouts focus on more dynamic pages with a wider variety of elements such as more imagery, headlines, and different articles. Interior book design emphasizes a consistent reader-friendly layout that maintains a uniform style.
Magazine: $55 per hour
Magazine and other layouts are available in color and black text. The pricing is the same for both.
Ebook Design and Conversion
Ebook layout design refers to how the content is organized and presented within the book by focusing on text flow, image placement, and typography to enhance the reader’s experience. Understanding the nuances of ebook layout design can significantly impact the ebook’s discoverability and success.
Ebook: $55 per hour
Amazon Kindle Fine Format is a format created by Amazon that is specifically used on Kindle devices, which often require a conversion from EPUB for compatibility.
Conversion of EPUB, PDF, or WORD file to Kindle Format: $30/hour
This service does not include proofreading of text or content.
Tia Gracey
Designer
Throughout her life, Tia has developed a love for the book development process from start to finish. She loves the creative aspect involved in turning a story into a work of art. She has worked on everything from personal projects for individuals to published magazines for nonprofit organizations.
Tia has a Master’s degree in Liberal arts from McDaniel College and a Master’s degree in Publishing from George Washington University. She has a certificate in Writing for Children and Young Adults from McDaniel College, and is currently working on obtaining her Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. She is a member of the Society of Scholarly Publishing (SSP), the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE), and the Editorial Freelancers’ Association (EFA). By taking courses from SSP, COPE, Elsevier, and EFA, Tia regularly polishes her editorial skills and knowledge to enhance her work.
